Meet Our Staff

Dr. Gary Newell
Dr. Newell graduated from Cleveland State University with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He attended Case Western Reserve University Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1976. Dr. Newell was trained in implant surgery and implant prosthetics at the Misch Implant Institute in Detroit, Michigan, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry sponsored program at the Medical College of Georgia.
Through his commitment to continuous study and training, Dr. Newell has achieved fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Newell is also an Implant Fellow of the Misch Implant Institute and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy Of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Newell enjoys sailing and working with his wife, Donna, and daughter, Dr. Carrie Clarkson. Dr. Newell and his wife reside in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Dr. Carrie Clarkson
Dr. Carrie Clarkson received her Bachelor of Science degree at James Madison University. She then obtained her doctorate degree in dental surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, Dr. Clarkson entered private practice with her father where she focuses on restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Clarkson has continued her education by taking several courses on various topics including sedation dentistry and advanced cardiac life support. She is also an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Clarkson is married and has two sons.
Davina
As the front desk coordinator, I'll be the first person you see as you enter the office. I know the dentist's office is not the favorite place for many people, so I make sure you feel comfortable and welcome as soon as you walk through the door. I have been with the office for seven years.
Michelle
I'm the liason between the doctor and the patient. I help with questions, scheduling and sequencing your dental visits. I love getting to know people and this helps me to help you get the kind of dentistry you would like to have. I have worked with Dr. Newell's office for the better part of 14 years.
Dianne
I've been a registered dental hygienist for 34 years and 21 years at this practice. I graduated from Michigan State University and also spent time there as a instructor. My focus is on helping patients with gum disease get healthier.
Kathy
I'm also a registered dental hygienist. I am a graduate of Old Dominion University. Upon graduation I received an award for being the best clinician in my class. I have been in the dental field since 1991, and I'll be helping you maintain a healthy mouth so you will look and feel your best.
Erica
I have been assisting for 9 years, and I am X-Ray and CPR certified . My goal is to assist the Doctor and help your treatment run smoothly and make you feel at ease and keep you comfortable from the beginning of your appointment to the end.
Cindy Jo
I have enjoyed being a Dental Assistant for 16 years. My training was through the Red Cross Naval Dental Clinic where I received my X-ray certification and continue to stay CPR certified. I enjoy working with people and will make every effort to ensure your dental care is as pleasant as possible.
